Prompt #1: The Room That Shouldn't Exist
Genre:
Horror / Thriller / Mystery
The Scenario:
You’ve just moved into a cheap apartment in a city you've never lived in. As the landlord hands you the keys, he says, "Just don’t open the door at the end of the hall. It’s sealed for a reason."
That night, just as you're falling asleep, you hear faint whispers bleeding through your bedroom wall. You sit up, frozen, eyes locked on your door. The whispers grow louder, closer.
You tiptoe out of bed and into the hallway. The voices swell with each step toward the sealed door... until they stop.
Panicked, you shout, “Hello? Anyone in there?”
Silence.
Your hand wraps around the doorknob. You twist. Nothing. It's still locked.
Confused, you return to bed, lying awake, wondering where the whispers came from, until your eyes finally close.
The next morning, on your way to the bathroom, you glance down the hall…
The door is wide open. 👀👀
Instructions:
Write a scene showing what you find, and how you're character reacts without saying a word. Show, don't tell.
